The Masterful Cat Is Depressed Again Today Ep 10 showed the audience what a cat parent goes through when adult responsibilities kick in. It gave the anime watcher a brilliant heartwarming episode which we definitely needed. So, what did I feel about this wholesome episode? Let us get going with-

The Masterful Cat Is Depressed Again Today Ep 10 begins in an interesting space, where panic-stricken Saku is not at all ready for an office retreat.

But, Saku is quite popular with her colleagues, especially when it comes to drinking. They all want the clumsy queen to join them for the retreat which forces her to change her decision.

Since it was pushed on her shoulder, naturally, the forthcoming event slipped her mind.

When Yuri suggests Saku, to keep two litter boxes ready for the trip, Saku feels proud of Yukichi because Yukichi is self-sufficient. Gladly she did not go into panic mode this time.

However, a lot can relate to Saku here. Even though it kinda seems, that Saku is not a traveler’s soul at all, but the way she starts wailing after comprehending that her school stip was the last trip, it was a sad and definitely relatable situation for a lot of people.

Life’s responsibility the rat race might make many of our lives stagnant and repetitive. I guess keeping these things in mind only makes the company retreats possible. I really want to Saku to enjoy her trip.

So, Yukichi was all great about Saku leaving for the company retreat. In fact, he prepared everything in his mind then and then which was quite meticulous of him, which was kinda obvious, again. 

When they were packing, me and Saku both realized, would Saku be fine on this trip without Yukichi? He has everything under his control. His life along with Saku’s. The thought terrified Saku which was expected from Saku’s end.

However, I totally fell in love with the montage when Saku and Yukichi both felt sad. Saku cried herself to sleep which, Yukichi also understood and her affection towards Saku truly won my heart. He is also a softy.

So, the moment finally came, and Saku had to leave. I felt that, if Yukichi had asked Saku to stay back, she would have stayed back. She was not happy about not getting the chance to eat Yukichi’s food, which I kinda felt relatable. 

But I didn’t expect Yukichi to give Saku a farewell letter. And he did not, instead, he listed down a choice of souvenirs along with a map. I mean this is something worth appreciating, right?

Nonetheless, I felt the energy dropping as soon as Saku left.

So, Saku was invested in understanding the souvenir list. She was so focused on going through the same that it was kinda noticeable. Her boss and colleagues sensed her enthusiasm.

I liked that she sat by herself and was doing her work. I understand what Saku feels, in fact, it happens to me a lot of the time, therefore I like her a lot. She is precious.

Yukichi wants Saku to be happy throughout the trip, therefore the souvenir list that he prepared concentrated on things that Saku liked and nothing focused on him. Which made Saku more sadder? Her feelings were justifiable at this point. 

Yukichi was all in her head. While on the other side, Yukichi was also missing Saku, a lot, actually. 

After happily finishing all the tasks on time, he went ahead and curled up inside Saku’s cupboard to smell Saku which I totally didn’t expect coming up. I was touched.

Since Saku would not be coming that evening, Yukichi was not left with any work like preparing dinner and getting the bath ready. Obviously, he will be bored.

Down Yukichi takes a short trip to the grocery shop. Even Rio understands the poor level of energy. I liked how Rio changed her outlook towards Yukichi after that incident. Her handing over the drink shows her gratitude. 

However, the masterful cat couldn’t seem to be all happy. He was missing Saku a lot now. 

Apparently, the masterful cat has packed everything essential which was absolutely expected.

Now, Saku buys an apron for Yukichi. Imagining Yukichi wearing this apron makes her happy. I bet we all loved it as well. 

So, whatever the plan for the day was, our clumsy queen couldn’t help but stop thinking about Yukichi at all, all through this time. The food was comparatively not as yummy as Yukichi makes. Also, she craved Yukichi’s special miso soup.

Just when Orizuka arrived at the spot, the sudden change of personality was superb. She was a baby a few seconds ago, but now she is an elegant woman who has everything under her control.

Unfortunately, Orizuka saw what she was doing.

Their deep meaningful conversation stops when Saku falls deep asleep while drunk. The gentleman unhesitantly brings her into her room. The curious roommates wondered and thus asked why did he carry her in her arms. It was not his choice. Being a gentleman is hard. And this is their second time. 

I again fell in love with the montage when Saku calls up Yukichi, and they share a conversation in their own language looking at the moon. Next, Yukichi ties a sweatshirt around his head and sleeps for the night. It was a heartwarming moment for me. I bet many of us went teary-eyed as well. 

So, Saku finally returns home. She might have wailed her heart at the beginning of The Masterful Cat Is Depressed Again Today Ep 10 because her school trip was her last trip. But she is a chronic homebody. Going away from her cat totally disturbed her nervous system.

I liked how Saku changed her facial expression before meeting Yukichi at the door. It showed her hidden mature side, which I liked.

I like how The Masterful Cat Is Depressed Again Today Ep 10 ended. The masterful cat and his pet parent slept so peacefully that day, it was a wholesome moment for the audience.

So this was my first impression of The Masterful Cat Is Depressed Again Today Ep 10. I enjoyed this episode the most. It was a wholesome episode for me which navigated the relationship dynamics of Yukichi and Saku a lot more intensely. Both of them experienced a rollercoaster of emotion when being away from each other.

The cat might show his disappointment a lot at Saku, both in the face and behind her back. But he is deep in love with his human and what he does in Saku’s absence is enough to prove his profound affection for Saku. See, we all know how Saku is therefore her behavior was predictable.
