The Masterful Cat Is Depressed Again Today Ep 9 was full of Yukichi and a lot less of Saku. The episode showed us a little extra of this masterful cat which I expected and I was amazed again. It was a good episode. But what about the first impressions? Let us get going with-

The Masterful Cat Is Depressed Again Today Ep 9 Review/ First Impression

The Masterful Cat Is Depressed Again Today Ep 9 begins with a phone call, at the Fukuzawa home addressed to Yukichi. Saku wanted to tell Yukichi that she would have dinner with her colleagues. 

Yukichi was busy with the house chores as usual. Now, the interesting portion of this episode was Saku. We have seen Saku a lot of times, coming home drunk and messy. However, when she left for her home, she was poised and had control over herself, even though she drank a lot more than her subordinates. 

The funny thing is, if you rewind and see her the time when she bid adieu to her colleagues, she was not standing straight. She gains control over herself, then she takes her leave. 

When she reached home and let herself be herself, I kept wondering how she managed to hold herself all this time. Like typically, she takes the train to reach home. How much challenging was it for Saku? 

Trust me, when Yukichi started pampering Saku, I noticed that my mouth was opening wide slowly. He knows so many things. From removing makeup to showering his human, and whatever else, he takes care of it, and it was stupendous. I was astounded by his dexterity once again.

Saku is blessed to have Yukichi, and again I would repeat, we all need Yukichi in our lives.

The next morning when Saku refuses to have breakfast, Yukichi’s know it all expression was enough to make me predict that he was confident that Saku would devour the breakfast.

See, Yukichi believes that, a home is where you heal, therefore he knows what Saku needs to heal and be ready for the next day. It was obvious for Yuri to be shocked seeing Saku’s productivity at God-Level.

Some cats love lint roller on them, but our Yukichi loves lint roller to get rid of his hair. A smart move to keep their space tidy and clean. But Saku gets the idea wrong.

Now, Yuri’s idea of installing CCTV was funny, it gave Saku a mini heart attack like no one can know about Yukichi ever. Her productivity level at the earliest of the day appeared suspicious. And it was kind of obvious as well. However, Saku’s magical transformation is all because of Yukichi.

Yukichi and Saku are the pet parent and the cat match made in heaven. She understood then and then what Yukichi had prepared for dinner just by hugging her fluffy cat. She even has gained expertise in deducing what Yukichi does the entire day just by his smell. 

So, Saku feels Yukichi is impressed while Yukichi considers her weird. Like I said match was made in heaven.

Another day begins with Yukichi slowly finishing the house chores, while the granny drops by, asking if he can volunteer for the clean-up duty. I predicted where the narrative was taking me.

Saku is terrified about people learning about a cat being so huge, while Yukichi is all ready to help humanity with his masterfulness.

His readiness for the clean-up and his skillfulness were surprising for the volunteers, which was again something I assumed would be. Like we don’t get to watch a huge cat cleaning the park normally. 

Yukichi even played with Gate Ball making some friends. Even he was gifted a hand-me-down bat. His dedication to every task comes as a blessing in his life. It was a cordial day for Yukichi.

So, we again meet the cat that Yukichi and Yume saved in the last episode. The cat’s name is Dai. Seeing his expression all the time, it appeared that he is a fan of Yukichi. He just couldn’t let go of Yukichi at all. He was being very clingy to the masterful cat. 

The kitten was full of energy, and Yukichi being an adult cat was losing all enthusiasm to play which happens even for human adults. Dai was a ball full of vitality and couldn’t just stop being clingy to Yukichi at all. 

I too assumed that Yukichi would be annoyed with Saku’s clinginess later, when she returned home. But his great time with Dai was enough to change the masterful cat’s emotion. He instead patted, which was surprising to watch. And the calm and welcoming expression was another homely touch to the moment. 

Well, I honestly felt that he would be annoyed since he experienced enough clinginess for the day. 

On the other side, we see, Dai trying to walk on his two legs imitating Yukichi. I didn’t expect this coming. And Yukichi was back in his personality.

Next, in The Masterful Cat Is Depressed Again Today Ep 9 we get to find out what Saku’s colleagues perceive of her. She was a different individual when she joined her company. After Yukichi came to her there was a noticeable change in her professional life as well. 

I also liked the part where Yuri says that Saku used to stand and sleep in the train and I must say that it’s impressive. Also, how they first interacted and how it went later, was something hinted at in the last episode.

Saku’s personal life is completely different from what she represents outside. 

I loved the typical end to The Masterful Cat Is Depressed Again Today Ep 9 though.

While TOTT Concludes

So this was my first impression of The Masterful Cat Is Depressed Again Today Ep 9. I loved every bit of the episode. I was mindblown when Yukichi took brilliant care of drunken Saku and made her all ready for the next day. Later when he volunteered his impeccable performance was impressive. 

Then he babysits a kitten too, which influences his behavior towards Saku. The episode also gave us the POV of Saku’s colleague and how she was before Yukichi entered her life. And her marvelous skill in standing and sleeping in a crowded and jerking metro, it’s something we all should learn. 

I loved The Masterful Cat Is Depressed Again Today Ep 9.
