Contemplating the choices in his life and questioning their worth, Nanami is guided by a vision of Haibara towards Yuji, who has coincidentally entered the scene. Nanami, acknowledging his imminent demise, entrusts the remaining battle to Yuji. In a fit of rage, Yuji clashes with Mahito, the confrontation unfolding throughout the subway.

TOTT’s Take On Jujutsu Kaisen S2 Ep 42

So, in the conclusion of Jujutsu Kaisen S2 Ep 42, it’s clear that Nanami proved his excellence one last time and showed a great deal of bravery when he faced those transfigured humans, even though he was already weakened. It was truly an amazing display of mental and physical strength. And Mahito, who just did not skip a second to use Idle Transfiguration speaks volumes about his ruthless nature. It was obvious yet it was extremely painful for me to watch.

Now, Nanami’s introspection from the beginning until his demise added a lot of depth to the situation. Also, the unexpected Haibara’s vision hinted at a mystical element. I felt that Nanami was happy that he would finally be able to meet his old friend who had been waiting for him all this time. So, he guides Nanami into transferring the responsibility to Yuji.

When Nanami acknowledged his demise, it was a powerful moment. He symbolically passed the battle to Yuji, emphasizing the importance of mentorship.

I kept wondering how much more pain Yuji had to suffer through this Shibuya ARC. He watched Nanami get shredded into pieces which was brutal and quite demotivating. Give this precious boy some rest!!!

Now, normally the demotivating and sad situation transcended into an angry fight. But Mahito’s psychological tactics in this regard showed just how tolling and potentially life-changing the battle was going to be.

It was particularly cunning of Mahito to target Nobara like that. I don’t know if was it fate that brought these two face to face. However, Mahito was impressed by Nobara.
