Why Takemichi From Tokyo Revengers S1 aka Our Cry Baby Hero Is A Real TOMAN Hero?

Hanagaki Takemichi from Tokyo Revengers S1 showed the audience that being a namby-pamby and staying a namby-pamby is simply a choice that is in your hand to change since you can only change the same and make bright changes in your life.

Unlike everyone, he receives the blessing of returning to his past and alternating the entire situation to help TOMAN, Hinata, and himself, to live another possible and nice future. Well, I am glad that he takes his golden chance and makes needed changes, isn’t he?

Well, Takemichi from 2017 was disappointed by how his present turned out. But this time he befriends the leaders of TOMAN who were focused on making a new era of delinquents. However, Takemichi’s approach to bringing the change was unfavorable, in terms of the Suppari culture. Most of the time he wailed his requests to Mikey and Draken. Yes, many of season 1’s audience were not happy about the protagonist of the show, because he cried a lot. But, I kind of liked Hanagaki Takemichi a lot because of his cry baby nature.

Well, I have got reasons to back up our Cry Baby Hero. Go through my arguments one by one about why Hanagaki Takemichi from Tokyo Revengers season 1 is a victor and a TOMAN hero. Let us begin with-

5 Reasons That Make Hanagaki Takemichi From Tokyo Revengers S1 The Real Hero Of TOMAN

Reason#1 Being Intense

He is an intense boy. Although he had this quality in him forever, however, realizing the same was not something easy for him to understand. The unfortunate news of Hinata, his middle school girlfriend was the trigger actually.

Reason#2 Impregnable

He is a very strong-willed guy. He knew that he is not physically strong, but still, he took up chances with big buffs in TOMAN even knowing what would be the result. He lacked confidence however he never gave up on himself. He tried to grow and be the best version of himself. This determination gifts him a prominent position he needed in TOMAN for saving the entity from the corrupted clutch of Kisaki.

Reason#3 A Man With A Golden Heart

He loves genuinely. Yes, his love for Hinata might have waned with time. But the unfortunate fate of the girl, whom he loved back then, disturbed his mind so much that he took up the job of changing everything from the past. In fact, several times in the 1st season he struggles to maintain peace inside TOMAN because of his golden heart.

Superficially it might seem selfish, and just for Hina’s sake, but with time he definitely started loving and caring for Draken, Mikey, Mitsuya, and the others from TOMAN who reciprocated his emotions too.

Reason#4 Being Reasonable

Takemichi is reasonable. He tries to understand what others are looking out for, then figures out what would be the best decision. Takemichi was so determined to change the past so that the present changes, that he goes into full detective mode in learning about what really is the deal with all the issues happening inside TOMAN. His ambition made him work with reason.

Reason#5 CRY BABY Hero

Takemichi cries while fighting. This is one of his notable personalities which I liked the most. He builds an association with two of the renowned thugs in Shibuya, Mikey, and Draken. They befriend Takemichi because they were impressed with the courage he showed while fighting one on one with Kiyomasa. His refusal to give up is something worth talking about.

Takemichi pushes himself to fight the big buffs numerous times even though he falls down and bleeds vigorously. But that does not stop him from going for his missions. He stands up and does what he plans, once again, crying and falling back once again.

Also, we cannot just ignore Hanagaki’s determination, which he showed during the Bloody Halloween incident in season 1. His sentimental cry was enough to bring everyone, out of their trance and reason out the actual reason behind Baji’s action and his final fate.

This characteristic of Takemichi definitely impressed many of TOMAN’s prominent members, just like he impressed me.

Well, I observed several other essential developments in Takemich’s personality in season 2 which we will discuss later. But for now…

TOTT’s Take On Our Cry Baby Hero Takemichi From Tokyo Revengers S1

Sure Takemichi cries but he definitely manages to finish what he starts. He planned many unachievable almost life-threatening tasks when he returned in 2005. Well, Takemichi successfully changed many things that dominantly influenced the timelines, but still, there are numerous knots that got untangled in Tokyo Revengers season 2.

According to me, Hanagaki Takemichi definitely, is a TOMAN hero, otherwise taking charge of changing the past so that he could save Hina, Akkun, Draken, and TOMAN was not something easy and trivial. He stopped being an escapist and embraced the hard path, by getting hits and injured every single day, but not stopping at all.

Takemichi aimed at reaching the top at TOMAN, which he successfully achieves in Season 1 with the partnership held by Chifuyu. He grew strong while crying and receiving numerous punches on his way to save Hina, Akkun, Draken, and TOMAN. But he carried on with his missions silently and moved forward with determination in his sleeves.

It is definitely something that is inspiring and motivating to me. He is obviously my CRY BABY hero and a worthy 1st squad captain of TOMAN.
