The Plot

The series is a parody thriller that begins with the sad life of Anna, an alcoholic divorced woman who lives her life doing nothing but gazing out of her window and watching her neighbors and their stuff. This practice of her unwittingly brings her to witness the murder of the woman in the house across the street. She calls 911 but things turn out different and here begins the story.

As the plot develops, many things unfold delivering the audience some interesting revelations that are deeply connected and will manipulate your perspective.

If you have watched too many mystery crime thrillers, then you might not end up satisfied with the series since it is an exaggeration of almost all the shows you watched till now. And after some time you might wind up predicting what happens next.

But one thing that certainly makes you happy is a very good end to Anna’s fate. You will definitely agree with that.

Further, you might feel, that The Women In The House Across The Street From The Girl In The Window is a supposed parody of The Women in the Window.

The Characters

Again if you have watched too many mystery thrillers, then, you won’t be able to build any form of sympathy for any of the characters portrayed in this show. Especially the lead Anna, she might gain some small amount of sympathy in the first two episodes, but as you will advance with the show, you will find her, shallow, obsessive, jobless, too nosy, and a miserable woman who overboard her actions, infuriating the viewers for sure. You will be annoyed with her definitely.

Stupid Situations That Justifies The Parody Perscetive(Spoliers Ahead)

Where was Neil after Lisa died? I mean is it possible for a 9-year-old to simply stab a lady, double her size, then remove the body from the scene then clean the scene. Isn’t it too much for a 9-year-old? Did she grow up watching Dexter or what?

What was the point of killing her teacher and then her father?

Emma stealing the palate knife was something not at all convenient since it is not practical at all given in that little span of time. It was something totally extra.

Well, of course, this is a parody, but this whole making Emma the villain was something absurd, ridiculous, and absolutely predictable too.

N.B: The Office(U.S) is also a Mocumentray but we don’t find these huge faults from the show, rather, you can rewatch the episodes several times right? Even after knowing the flaws.

At a superficial level, there are numerous flaws that back up the series, but minute details such as Anna reading titles such as The Woman Across the Lake and The Girl on the Cruise are something that project why she likes acting detective all by herself.

Then her repeating the same sentence over and over again even in the exhibition is something that notifies her sick mental condition. Also, Anna stops drinking wine and pills, instead, she starts having vodka and pills, wonderful right? This is the juncture where you will break definitely.

In her unstable medical condition, she takes a solo trip to meet Sloane, her friend currently living in New York is fine by her husband who is a forensic psychiatrist and an FBI profiler. This simply suggests that it is either unknown to him, or he is being reckless once again.

Also, who leaves their precious kid with a cannibal serious killer? Anna insists her husband take their daughter to his work, and the scene simply stupifies the audience, right? It was once again impractical and insane to the core, again justifying the subject of parody.

Precisely the series is filled with too much exaggeration that might end up turning you off. But if you want to giggle watching the ridiculous extra sequences then be our guest.

TOTT’S Take On The Women In The House Across The Street From The Girl In The Window

Well, if you are a thriller junkie then you will definitely not enjoy the show. However, if you try watching the show from a parody perspective, then it is a good time killer.

The series kind of covers up the flaws and delivers you a serious note in the beginning, 2-3 episodes. But as you proceed with the season, you will understand that it is nothing but a hyped-up title made for killing time.

The actors were unquestionably good, especially the lead Anna played by Kristen Bell. She did an amazing job in projecting the extra, nosy, shallow, judgmental, love-to-play detective neighbor whom you should better avoid if you have any in your life.

In fact, the production team also did a great job in executing this dark series in a parody form.

The show ends, initiating a new mystery that this woman Anna stumbles upon on her airplane ride, so there is definitely a new season in the making.
