What You Might Like About Twenty-Five Twenty-One(2022)
The Direction
Jung Ji-Hyun is the man who formulated this relatable, homely, competitive, friendly and of course, warm show that you will love. It was minute, simple yet complex, showcasing the composite human attribute that we find in every home. Besides, the fine direction will let the non-athletes enjoy the fencing montages without dropping a sweat.
Those were some brilliant sequences from the show, which will pump you up. Jung Ji-Hyun created the drama in such a beautiful way, where you will feel the characters, you will be pushed to walk in their steps, thus apprehending their emotions. You will laugh with them and definitely cry with them. Additionally keeping in mind the slow transitions of the years, was also something we need to talk about, from gadgets to trends, the direction was too good.
And if you pay a close eye on the moments from the show, you will be amazed that Jung Ji-Hyun put a detailed look on practicality. For instance, when Ko Yo Rim leaves for good in Russia, we can watch from a distance, her mother turns away, showing how a mother is unable to watch her only daughter leave. It was neat and definitely to the core.
Further, each of the characters in the show grows up. From Na Hee Do to her mother, yes, even parents grow and develop as the series advances and progress with the needed events. It was really nice.
The Music
Let us begin with the OST; each of the tracks has its own specialty thus they rock. Now if you listen to the sweet yet invigorating background scores, they were apt, detailed, and definitely lovely. Besides being perfectly fitting to the scenes, the music added a vintage touch to the plot while adding some significant depth to the episodes.
Although very familiar, yet very unique, the soothing background scores amazingly let you connect with the scenes, also, letting you immerse completely with the show. All credit goes to Lim Ha-young, who is the person behind those gentle yet intense tunes.

With talented directions by Jung Ji Hyun, the story is amplified with richness and vitality. Additionally, this ’90s story will inspire you without a doubt which is another plus point. The Relationship
When the strong relationship that Na Hee Do and Back Yi Jin shared turned into romance, things seemed slightly pushed. However, you will get used to the pace; again because of the direction.
Also, you may not like, is the reasons for their break up. It was to simply end the relationship, which was not potent.
The leads loved each other which was evident. They shared something pure and too strong to end in that way. It was nowhere meant to end actually if something is so deep and lively. Sure, distance makes humans grow apart(which Ko Yu Rim and Moon Ji Woong surpassed beautifully though) but the love each of them gleamed which was something intense and can never fade. It was painful, harsh, and to some extent forced.
The Ending
The audience is left with, too many questions that need answers. Of course, Twenty-Five Twenty-One(2022) is one of those Korean tv shows that are profound, hence, too many open strings are there that need closure.
For instance, why did Na Hee Do get married all of a sudden? What happened to the immeasurable friendship that the kids shared even as adults, are they still in touch? Did Back Yi Jin also get married? Yes, we need answers, since we profusely spent a bottomless amount of time in this impressive drama, thus we need answers.
