Netflix launched Hellbound on 19th November 2021, which is based on a webtoon titled the same, created by Yeon Sang-Ho. The somber atmosphere that circulated the Korean series somehow resembles the acute tension that we witnessed in the renowned anime series Death Note. How right? Well, TOTT is here with the answer.

5 Reasons That Makes Hellbound And Death Note Pretty Much The Same
Reason #1 The New World
The idea of bringing in the ‘New World’ is prominent in both shows. We all can say that the human race has reached the stage where we swim in a pool of evil emotions daily. In Death Note, we find Light Yagami the lead is tired of the sins and corruptions that the human race survives through.
He feels that someone should take the charge of bringing in righteousness. Just like Jeong Jin. He plans to support the New World where the human breed is penalized for their sins.
Reason #2 Supernatural Force Drives The Homo Sapiens Insane
We saw that writing a name on Death Note can invite uncertain death to anyone. Only the holder gets permission to manipulate the death of the sinner/anyone. Also, we get to see God of Death residing with the Death Note, holder.
Here an apparition comes and informs a decree, that states the exact time of the death. And in the exact hour of the death, three huge shadowy bodies rumble into the human realm killing the human by torching the body to the ground.

Reason #3 The God Complex
Again just like Death Note, we too here get to witness, that the human breed suffers from a God complex. When L dies, Light goes berserk, for there is no one else to bring hindrances to his plan of eradicating the world from sinners, trying to establish a New World.
But the followers of Kira worked more aggressively than he ever did. Light was calculative in all his steps. However, his followers went insane when they received the supernatural power in their hands.
In Hellbound also, we find Jeong Jin is a very calm person. He talks politely and is always there to help the one in doubt. But the ones following his establishment, the ‘New Truth’, acted up so quickly, that showed the unstable mental health of the human race.
They suffered from God Complex with power in their palms. In addition, the unruly behavior of the community started by ‘The Arrowhead’ was a genuine pain throughout the series.
Reason# 4 Paranormal Over Logic
When supernatural events take place now and then, people, start disbelieving logic. There comes a corner where people start battling each other with their points of view. The stronger grows stronger and the weaker is made weaker with strength and abuse.
We have already seen the case in Death Note. After L dies, it was literally scared as to see who dies next. Similarly, Hellbound shocks you with the same scenario. The battle between good and evil turns up so strong that you will root for something to appear soon as a silver lining.

Reason #5 Excellent Work
The series Hellbound, is teamed up with extravagant people that enhanced the whole storyline very well. Death Note is also a masterpiece that not only has a brilliant story to rewatch it, several times but the representation of the manga is made deliberately wonderful as well as intricate with the team that brought the artwork to a show and several live actions. You will be glued to the programs till the end and will unattentively switch over to the next episode.
Both Hellobound and Death Note are amazing Tv shows, (you can stream the former on Netflix) that somehow manage to showcase the brutal side of human society. The ending of Hellbound sure teases the audience with a predetermined season 2 at the making. Hope to seat with the next project very soon.
So what do you think about the debate? If you have watched both the show, then you definitely know what we are up to, right?
