Naoto from Tokyo Revengers is a very prominent character of the series, although he appears very less on the screen. His presence somewhat resembles those NP characters of any video game we play where one comes on screen just to fill in the empty blanks with useful information pretty necessary for proceeding with the show.

In the past, when Takemichi rescues this sweet boy from bullies unwillingly builds an impressive show in front of the brother of the girl Takemichi likes. Naoto also goes to the extent of taking notes to tackle any such bullying circumstances if faced in the future.
Then their small talks eventually reveal Takemichi’s time leap situation that this kid even trusts and it was something important. This entire conversation is very much crucial since this actually stands to be the base of the show.
Here Takemichi takes up the role of a big brother educating a young brother, teaching him the natural order to face and fight difficulties. The whole sequence, them seating on the swing and engaging in life talks was something very sweet and warm.
Their First Meet In The Present
Not only does it brings a sense of joy to Takemichi’s heart, but also to the audiences as well, since this boy is still alive and all thanks to Naoto Tachibana. He returns his favor from the past and saves our Cry Baby from dying a terrible death and believes that Takemichi can only save his big sister.

When Naoto Visits Takemichi’s Home
It was certainly hilarious. From the looks and appearance, Naoto definitely gives off a well-to-do guy vibe, right? He wears good, and always stays fit and fine. While on the other hand, Takemichi lives a very casual form of life where he struggles every day wherever he goes. He survives most of the time on cup noodles and is not at all happy with the way he manages his current social stature.
Therefore it was pretty much obvious to watch Naoto reacting in such a way when he finds the mess in which Takemichi was living.

Naoto And Takemichi At Hina’s
All these times, Takemichi grew closer to Naoto. They spent quality time together in regards to the investigation both of them were carrying out. However, with each visit to the past, there was an altercation in the present, which was totally unaffected to Takemichi. But it was different each time with a big change in the present.
This time it was Hina and Akkun, they are alive and well. So, Naoto takes Takemichi to Hina’s place. This unexpected visit to Hina troubled Takemichi and he left, but was stopped by Hina in the end. Their awkward meeting at Hina’s place was something uncomfortable.
Certainly, none of them had a topic to talk about, in fact, Takemichi was not at all ready to confront Hina after so long. The perplexing silence made Naoto finally decide to leave the ex’s, but Takemichi could not just handle this inconvenient get-together.
They sure grew friends, more specifically brother by this point.
Takemichi At Hinata’s Funeral
Once again, after going through all those troubles in the past, Takemichi fails to protect Hinata, and she dies brutally in front of him. He was depressed, disappointed, and was terribly hopeless at this point. His silent mourn in Hinata’s funeral talks something grave and deep.
He turns quiet and motionless only to stir up Naoto watching Takemichi in that wretched condition. Naoto breaks into tears only to realize that he lost his beloved sister once again and is unknown, whether there is any other way around to change this very present.

Well, throughout the anime we have come at least 5 times by now, where Naoto loves teasing Takemichi and will never get tired of that. But he trusts this cry baby too. He gives the most important task of his life which is saving Hinata his older sister.
We saw how Hina’s life somehow intertwined with Akkun, Draken, Mikey, and ultimately TOMAN, which was completely unimportant to Naoto. Still, he tries to understand Takemichi’s point of rescuing each of the prominent persons in Takemichi’s life in addition to Hina.
He is the ally who gives strength to Takemichi from time to time and fuels him up with purpose every time he comes back from the past. Basically, Naoto is the one who is the power behind all this thing Takemichi took up without thinking a bit.
