The show is a 1 hour 42 minutes long documentary that gives us, the Potterheads an insight on the films, the characters, and the Behind-The-Set moments that we definitely deserve. Well, the majority of the scenes and their stories were already shared and it was long back. However, there is definitely a lot more too.

Each of the Potterheads would love the actors(once again) along with each of the scenes. They are intermingled with one another, and why won’t they be? They spent so many years together filming and bonding on their work.

The epilogue at the end of Deathly Hallows part 2 was simply an interpretation that your magical childhood is over. Therefore when we are introduced to each of our favorite characters one by one, it was truly sweet and emotional.

Emma Watson is seen in a library while Robbie Coltrane was in a cafe and Mathew Lewis is seen stuck in traffic. They receive their letters, with a thorough detailing, with exact mentioning of their location, in each of the letters, in the intro. This simply took us back to the moment when Harry is introduced to the world of magic in the Sorcerer Stone.

Each of the characters enjoying their time, coming back to the magical world was enough to bring a wide smile at every Potterhead’s face.

The Transition

Since the first two installments, Harry Potter and the Sorcerer Stone and Harry Potter and The Chamber of Secrets were directorial ventures of Chris Columbus, the movies had a happy-go-lucky, kiddish essence to them. When the show begins, we as a loyal audience walk, as we are directed by Casey Patterson.

Then suddenly the grim shadow of dementors sinks us in with Prisoner of Azkaban. This slow transition was just the beginning. Then comes the Goblet of Fire and it was again happy and vibrant with all the teenage hormonal happy stuff. However, it is that movie where Voldemort ‘He who must not be named’ gets a physical stature, finally. Additionally Harry Potter and his universe witnesses a death, very real, shocking the whole lot.

With Voldemort returning, nothing seems regular, there was something terrible taking place, one way or the other. And yes, we are talking about this transition, this slow subtle change.

We grew up with them, hence we experienced their laughter, their rivalry, their sweet occasions that were slowly moving towards adulting. And this show showed us the transition in a very subtle but genuine way.

The Trio

Harry Potter, Ron Weasly, and Hermoine Granger were the golden trio that prepared us for the hard life by inspiring and motivating us from time to time. This golden trio held us together, helped us to take off to a magical world where there is no one, who judges us. You can be yourself, creative, inspiring, positive, strong, and motivating.

These three showed us the value of friendship in an amazing way from the very beginning of their journey at Hogwarts school of witchcraft and wizardry.

Have you ever felt tearing down at the end of the first movie where Harry says ‘We are not going home, not really’, pointed out by Chris Columbus in this show as well, this sentence genuinely marked the actual beginning of the era that made our childhood brilliant, isn’t it?

Although going through some superficial but original differences at the beginning of the first year, these three students managed to become best of friends for eternity. They showed us what is the real definition of friendship. There were tough times when they argued, but most importantly they returned with a warm heart.

While they were seated together, the actors, Daniel Radcliffe Emma Watson, and Rupert Grint, from no angle seemed themselves. They were Harry, Ron, and Hermoine enjoying their get-together wholeheartedly.

Their experience through the decade was not only a memory they would cherish but we will too.

Their Good Byes to the movies were actually the most heartbreaking instance that did hurt us a lot. Every time we watch the last scene of Deathly Hallows Part 2, it hurts us the same every time. Nothing can match the pain that we all Potterheads go through, that same instance. Like already said, it genuinely brought an end to our childhood.

Watching the actors tearing up reminiscing over their time at the set and their memories, was something emotional. It made our hearts flutter. Emma, Rupert shared a sweet emotional time together taking us together with them. On the other hand Daniel’s word stating that this movie gave him the foundation of what he is today was really sentimental.

A Tribute To The Departed

Precisely, after the end of the series, the Potterheads and the cast suffered a whole of deaths of the amazing actors who played huge parts in these magical films. Harry Potter 20th Anniversary: Return To Hogwarts invited us to pay tribute to all those amazing souls that we lost through these years.
