Dune 2021; A Multi-Starer Movie That Should You Be Watching Or Not?

Dune is a 2021 entertainment production, that somehow gives the audience Star Wars and Start Trek vibe based across some other planetary setting and is new to see. This project is deeply based on the literary work of Frank Herbert.

Well, it has a predecessor, also titled the same, Dune(1984) which failed to establish a name, thus several of us do not have its idea in the first place.

Besides the literature is also made into a television show titled Children of Dune(2003), which stars James McAvoy, Daniela Amavia, and Julie Cox in the leads.

Dune 2021 : What About The Story?

The movie begins with Paul having dreams of a mysterious girl from Arrakis, and this is not his first time seeing this lady in his dreams. He feels that the girl is trying to contact him, about which he speaks to his mother which she directly ignores.

Moving on to the next sequence where we finally learn that Paul is the immediate heir to Duke Leto of House Atreides, who is the ruler of the Ocean planet Caladan.

He is given a change of power where he will be responsible for taking care of Arrakis the desert planet specifically covered with heaves of Dune, instead of House Harkonnen.

Well, this is just the base upon which the story of this flick is prepared. Only the initiation of the sci-fi adventure is showcased in this very first installment. A lot is yet to unfold, so let us now wait for its part 2.

Dune Review: The Good And The Bad

The Good:

The cinematography and editing by Greg Fraser and Joe Walker are wonderful. The theme and ambiance are kind of like DC. From the dress to the set, everything has a dark aura lurking behind the plot, which you will appreciate.

The cast is great, everyone did their portrayal of the character wonderfully which somehow, made the lead look a bit immature. However Timothee Chalamet is a talented artist, so, we hope to see his best in the upcoming installment.

The background score is another great addition that enhances the climate of each scene. All credit goes to Hans Zimmer who undoubtedly proved his talent in numerous products such as my favorite Kung Fu Panda, Sherlock Holmes(2009), The Da Vinci Code, Angles Demons, and more as such.

The Bad

Well, honestly speaking, nothing is bad about this entertainment piece. However, the ones who went through the novel might find flaws. Also, the cliched storyline might be a major turn-off, along with the sudden end of the film.

TOTT’s Take On Dune 2021

The directorial venture of Denis Villeneuve is superb and would definitely make your movie night great. It is a 156-minute content that sure covers a very small segment of the books written by Frank Herbert. Therefore a whole lot of plot points and twists are about to unfold in the upcoming sequels.

Well, the audience who loves engaging sci-fi content would of course acknowledge the movie. In addition, if you are an avid Star Wars and Star Trek Fan then my friend this is what you need to watch as another addition to the collection.

It is a thumbs-up from TOTT. We can hope to see the next installment by 2024 since the shooting commences in July 2022. Let’s just wait guys.
